The last year has probably been the most turbelent EVER! Drug addiction in the family and the death of our son has consumed my life. I could write 5 pages and still not fill in all the missing blanks but lets just say...that its time I learn to re-focus on me, my business, MY LIFE!

Guilty Pleasures

I find it so difficult to come up with blog topics, especially during trying times. I have vowed to keep it up but at times we all get writers block. Its not really fair to ALWAYS talk about my most favorite guilty pleasure which of course would be 'handcrafted soap'.

So.. I set out on to the web in search of a blog topic! I stumbled upon Chris Brogan's Blog. Specifically a post from 2007 titled 100 Blog topics I hope you write. WOW! Now many of the topics do not concern my line of work but certainly it is a place to start for those that may struggle. So without further ado...

According to Wikipedia a guilty pleasure is: something one enjoys and considers pleasurable despite feeling guilt for enjoying it. Often, the "guilt" involved is simply fear of others discovering one's lowbrow or otherwise embarrassing tastes, rather than actual moral guilt. Fashion, music.

Quite frankly.. those of you who know me, know that I rarely get embarrassed and am not bothered by what others think, especially when it comes to my two most beloved guilty pleasures. Diet Coke probably ranks a bit higher than the Coors Light. I would almost have to say that my Diet Coke would be a staple rather than a guilty pleasure. Many people wake up to their coffee or Starbucks drive thru, I on the other hand make a stop at a local convience store for a 32 ounce Diet Coke to start my day, I have been told I could be the poster child for them.

Coors Light is probably the REAL guilty pleasure that I enjoy on weekends only. Nothing like a nice icy cold blue mountain beverage while sitting on your patio looking at another awesome pleasure in life.

I know that the original blog idea was top 10 guilty pleasures but quite frankly I live a pretty simple life and do not indulge on a regular basis. However my final guilty pleasure which has become a way of life for me is handcrafted soap.

Not only does it feel great on the skin but they look and smell fab as well.

I am feeling more and more non high maintenance after writing this blog post, 3 guilty pleasures... WOW!

When Life Gives You Lemons... Make Bath Bombs!

Once again, I feel like I have been 'missing in action' for quite some time. It really isn't fair to you my readers, customers and friends.

For the last few months I have asked myself, friends and family members the following question. 'I have been dealt one heck of a lemon, tell me my friends, how do I turn this situation into lemonade"? Not one person could give me an answer so... I have decided the following:

I will no longer let my fear, anger, sadness, etc get me down and take over my life and happiness. So what is a simple soap girl to do?

Make it all EXPLODE!!!

Not my life of course, but in a healthy way. I have struggled for years to perfect the bath bomb fizzy. I feel I have finally perfected the process. During this time I have found that I have to slow down my brain and concentrate. ( I know its tough for me but.. I did it) What a feeling of accomplishment it has been.

As I test the bomb, I see explosion, fizzing and awesome fragrance begins permeating the room. Totally relaxing as I fixate on the entire process and realize that with each fizz bubble and pop - this is what I must do.

Did I Really Need That Parent Class?

Every May, we all flock to City Aquatics to our 'not so' coveted parent class which is a pre-requisite for our children to participate in swim team for the summer. All of us parents roll our eyes and think, what a waste of time, on top of that we must pay $5.00 to attend.

I was one of those parents yesterday, rolling my eyes, racing through lunch hour traffic to make it on time. Parking is always a hassle too! So I park at the church across the street thinking my truck will NEVER get towed from a church. (this is after I drove 3 blocks looking for the perfect parking spot) As I enter the crowded room, with little air flow, and sweating as I raced across the street to make it on time. I flop down in my seat and think, my gosh... do I have to really be told how to treat my child at a swim meet? I like to think I am not hard on him, cheer him on every step of the way, and teach him that he is still young and has plenty of time to 'do his thing'. (whatever that might be)

All of a sudden, a breath of fresh air enters the room. A very pale red headed woman with a soft voice enters the room and welcomes all of us. She does not lecture us about anything but rather gives very important advice regarding nutrition, and NOT to coach our kids. Hmmm... my ears are perking up at this point.

I learned quite a bit, one point really stuck with me. How many of us parents out there think we have the next prodigy? Whether it be swimming, golf, baseball, etc. They told us in no uncertain terms that it takes children over 10 years to develop into an elite athlete. Hmmm... so if you have a great athlete NOW - in ten years they could potentially plateau or soar. I also learned how to potentially feed my child before during and after a swim meet.

Moral of the story?

I learned quite a bit yesterday and having a negative attitude is NOT always the best attitude to have. With an open mind imagine how much more I could have walked away with?

What can we do at home to get rid of these symptoms or prevent them from happening?

Let's First Address the Entire Body as a System

If a fungus is on a toe, its highly likely that its present somewhere else inthe body. If you've ever had yeast infections, athletes feet, or jock itch for example, you will be apt to get fungal infections on the nails. Make sure the foods that you are eating are more alkaline to balance the body so the unwanted fungus can't take up residence. More alkaline foods are fruits and vegetables. Stay away from acid producing foods, such as sugar, refined carbohydrates, coffee and alcohol.

There are certain "anti-fungal" foods you can eat such as:

Avocado

Broccoli

Brussels Sprouts

Cabbage

Cinnamon

Cloves

Collards

Lemon

Garlic

Kale

Onions

Coconut

and "anti-fungal" supplements:

Grapefruit seed extract

Oregano essential oil

Ginger

Pau d'arco herb and tea

For local application...sure, there are over the counter topical creams. Often they are full of chemicals you may want to shy away from. More natural topical applications would be oils: therapeutic essential oils, vitamin E oil, castor oil, and Vicks VapoRub.

Some ways to use these:

Castor Oil: "Horny" Toe Nail is a common problem especially in the elderly. It's a toenail that is large, angled, and difficult to trim. Soak feet in Epsom salts for 15 minutes every night, and then wrap toe in a castor oil soaked gauze. Put a sock on.

Therapeutic Essential Oils Use one of these directly on the affected toe:

Oregano - Melaleuca (Tea Tree)

Mix tea tree with lavender

Mix tea tree with mountain savory You can use about 5 drops of these oils. Use directly on the site, or dilute with Vitamin E oil. Use the Young Living Blends of Melrose, Thieves, and Purification.

Vicks VapoRub as a remedy? When Vicks hit the market decades ago, people were using it for everything, including fungal nail infections.

The magic of Vicks in the eucalyptus!

(But I say why use Vicks when we have our Young Living Oils!)

Vicks has essential oils in it. Essential oils are naturally anti-microbial and can get rid of any unwanted microbes in their environment, including fungus.

Now Make Them Pretty

Paint them anyway. But be sure to take off your nail polish regularly and reapply. It gives you the opportunity to follow its healing course. You have to pay more attention to your toenails when you are working on getting rid of a fungus. Cleaning, soaks, oil applications, and regularly taking off your polish and reapplying it will take time, stay with it, its worth it.

This may be the last time I have to be reminded how utimately important it is to blog! How many times must the PR Guru's (ideally The Publicity Hound) tell me.. blog blog blog! Search engines such as Google will find you, Twitter - you have to post to Twitter, and don't forget about Facebook. How does a simple soap girl deal with it all? Not sure, but I will figure it out come (H E double hockey stick, or high water)

I sit and search my Stats on http://www.statcounter.com/ all the time! Hmm.. not working. Of course it is NOT working, nor is any traffic of any kind going to visit My Site unless I work it. I am not sure why it has taken me years to jump on the 'social media' band wagon. But... I think the time has come.

I really have to be serious this time, so hold on to your hats, and fasten yer seatbelts because I think my time is here...........

Might not always be soapy driven, but I will find something to mutter about.

A professor at CCNY for a physiological psych class told his class about bananas. He said the expression "going bananas" is from the effects of bananas on the brain. Read on:

Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.

A David-vs.-Goliath Economic Strategy

In the retail gift, home and gourmet food industries it seems that we are often in a David versus Goliath scenario. Independent retailers as the Davids have gained ground recently against the Goliaths, or the big-box retailers. However, Goliath still rules retail, and to a degree they has contributed to the destruction of many American jobs in the process.

We can change the face of American economics without government intervention, but it is going to require a grass-roots effort.

Grass roots… A contagious movement that springs from individuals, communities and social associations which is not government sponsored or mandated, come from the heart and seeks to produce positive and lasting change in a society.

An example of a successful grass-roots movement is the now mainstream concept of going “green”. The green movement is changing our everyday lives in both social and business areas. Green business is good business, not just for the revenue stream it provides (which is a life saver); but for its lasting, positive benefits.

So what kind of new grass-roots movement do we need? Made in America!

It begins with reading labels. When I go shopping for anything (typically tools, apparel, and electronics), I first find out where the product was made before I make my buying decision. I often wind up not buying anything because the labels are telling me places like Vietnam, China, Indonesia, or some 3rd world country where corporations have sought out the cheapest labor (often without regard to anything else). When I do not buy I always make it a point to tell someone why. The way to change the mentality of large-scale importers (most large retail companies in America today) is to demonstrate our displeasure by affecting their wallets.

Recently I was shopping for a pair of khakis. The Dockers brand at Kohl's(a department store near me) were “on sale” advertising 60% off. They showed a “list” price of $70, but all pants were marked at $29. So I looked at the labels and found: Dominican Republic, Haiti, China, and Malaysia . How many pairs did I buy? You guessed it…zero! I realize I may be the expection here but what they haven’t realized is that the slacks are really worth $70 and if made in nthe US would sell for that in my opinion. We are trading American Jobs to by Dockers for $29…no thanks.

As a retail business operator, your buying power, while just a fraction of Wal-Mart’s and Kohl's, will represent an opportunity for the grass roots to take hold. So if you tell your wholesale sales representatives to rep products made in America, they will also carry that message to their National Sales Manager and so on. I realize this is very simplistic and other factors are at work, such as manufacturing capability, competitive pricing, and so on, but there are answers available if we really want to seek them.

Our David-versus-Goliath battle is different because the stone we use is intended show that there is a better way for all of us. We need the Goliaths in our economy, but we need them to help build our American manufacturing segment back to pre-Wal-Mart levels, and we can do just that.

I may be a dreamer, but dreams are what realities are born from. Are you a dreamer too?

Shea Jelly Recipe

I just stumbled upon a great recipe I wanted to share! Enjoy and let me know if you need any help locating ingredients.

Non-Petroleum Shea Jelly

1 ounce Natural Shea Butter
4 ounces Grape seed oil
1/2 ounce grated beeswax
12 drops grapefruit seed extract

(most ingredients can be found at a natural grocery store, such as Sun Harvest or Whole Foods)

1. In a double boiler over simmering water and medium heat, combine the grape see oil and beeswax, heat gently until the wax has melted, then add your shea butter. Don't overheat 120 degree is sufficient.

2. Remove mixture from the heat and add the grapefruit seed extract.

3. Cool over ice water and stir with a spoon till it thickens in consistency.

Store in a glass jar with screw-top. (I think a plastic one with screw top will work fine too). This jelly should keep for a year.

Be very careful not to get ANY water into your mixture.

Lemon Grass essential oil has so many fabulous properties and benefits that I could blog about it all day long! Below are some general facts and info.

Description: Lemongrass is a fast growing, tall, aromatic perennial grass that grows up to 1.5 metres (4 feet) in height. It is native to Asia, but is now cultivated mostly in the West Indies, Africa, and Tropical Asia.

Color: Yellow to brownish yellow liquid.

Common Uses: Organic Lemongrass Essential Oil is known for its invigorating and antiseptic properties. It can be used in facial toners as its astringent properties help fight acne and greasy skin. An excellent anti-depressant, Lemongrass Essential Oil tones and fortifies the nervous system and can be used in bath for soothing muscular nerves and pain. Lemongrass shares similar properties with citronella and has a great reputation for keeping insects away.

With that being said... I gotta tell ya! This stuff works... it really does eliminate smoke odors from your vehicle. Now if you are not a smoker... no problem there is an array of oils to choose from that will make your car smell fabulous. AND I'd like to add that... I think I am a bit calmer of a driver now. :)

Cautions: Avoid in glaucoma and with children. Use caution in prostatic hyperplasia and with skin hypersensitivity or damaged skin. Avoid use during pregnancy.
It is recommended that this essential oil be stored in dark amber, blue or green glass bottles since it has been found to dissolve aluminum bottles.

Undo The New Facebook Change

Facebook users are still howling about recent changes to the homepage. If you are one of them, there is a quick fix to change it back to the way it used to be.

Ten days ago, with no warning, Facebook eliminated the Twitter-like feed of every real-time status update. Now, instead of displaying everything from all your friends, Facebook uses a secret algorithm to display only the posts and status updates that are generating a lot of comments and responses. So you never know what you are missing.

If you hate the change, here is a three-step process to revert back to the old feed:

- Log into Facebook. On your homepage, on the top of the left column, you will see "News Feed". Go to the bottom of that column and click on "More."

- Find the 'Status Updates." Click and drag it to the very top of that column.

- Click "Status Updates" to load that view. Now, Facebook will deliver your feeds just like it did before.

The News Feed option is still on the left. If you click on it, you will see the new view. And if you decide later that reading your Facebook feed is like drinking from a firehose, you can always revert back to the smaller feed.

Have not posted in such a long time.... actually took a bit of a hiatus from here. But I am back and ready to go!! Below is a write up I received on CNN Money about launching a business in El Paso, Texas! WOO HOO!!!! As I tell my family: YEA ME!!

I started making soap about four years ago, when my son's doctor suggested that I use glycerin soap for his eczema. After a trip to a local shop, where I paid an arm and a leg for an ugly, boring bar of soap, I decided to learn to make it rather than purchase it. I started sculpting soap into art pieces that looked like real slices of pie or cupcakes. Next thing you know, friends are asking to buy the product to give away as gifts.

Since then, I've founded Sudz N Bubbles, and we've had one our products featured on HGTV. We now have a staff of four.

El Paso was the perfect location for my startup. Living in a Texas border town brings unique advantages. First, we have no income taxes in Texas, and a very inexpensive cost of living in El Paso. Second, we have a very large influx of shoppers from Mexico that flood the city and stimulate our local economy every weekend -- especially during holiday shopping season. Harnessing this market can mean great success for a growing business.

I'm not bilingual, which can be a disadvantage for a local business owner, but with or without the language barrier, it's impossible to deny the influence of Latino culture here. I've developed a quinceanera soap favor especially for this market.

With El Paso as my launching place, my goal is to take my products to a nationally known level. Soap-making has become an addiction for me, and selling my wares is one of the best ways I can think of to support my family and build a business. -Annalyn Censky

My HGTV debut & Shirts Are In The House!!

After all the hype; two years from production to air. I finally made the big screen this morning. Problem is.......... I had a huge blonde moment. I posted and told everyone that it would air at 8:00 AM. (Eastern Standard Time - that is) Well I am mountain standard time. What's the big deal? Well; it really aired at 6:00 AM my time. My phone was ringing, emails coming in like crazy at about 8:15 this morning. All my friends missed it! The neatest thing next to seeing myself was all the emails from customers and others that don't even know me. Just to congratulate me! Thanks everyone, it was awesome!! For those of you that missed it; I will be posting it right here on my blog. Not sure when though; I must find someone smarter than me to help with it.

My other news for the day is............ My t-shirts are finally here. After three attempts I finally got the printer to agree with me and do it my way. They look AMAZING. I am sooo proud! I have so many new soapy creations coming! I am a bit slow on getting them uploaded. Since I lost my soap shop girl a few months back I am having to learn all the ins and outs of photoshop. Its taking time but I hope to be a pro soon.

I can't believe it is really going to happen! February 27th, 2009 my episode of HGTV's hit show "That's Clever" will air!

You don't understand how long the waiting game has been. I really thought it would never happen after two years. But.... it is! I might regret posting this now as the producers had me doing some VERY strange yet crazy things.

So... keep tuned as I am sure I will post a reminder. :)

Got Garlic and Onions?

Love to cook but hate the ‘after smell’ on your hands? I am talking about garlic and onion. That garlic scent can linger on your fingers for up to two days!! Did you know that coffee grounds will help to eliminate that scent from your hands?

You can sprinkle coffee grounds or salt into your hands and rub together to eliminate. There is another step to accomplish:

After washing, rinse hands under water, then rub hands on stainless steel sink OR other stainless steel item, rinse again. If that does not work; try the above steps one more time.

You may eliminate several steps above by trying our “Cup O Cappuccino” glycerine soap. It is chock full of coffee and works! I used it last night.

Many Great Uses For Lavender

I am sure many of my readers either LOVE or HATE lavender. I used to hate it; after many special requests from customers, I have actually come to tolerate it. However; with that being said; I have to remind myself that lavender is a fabulous plant.

The plant name for lavender is: Lavandula angustifolia aka Lanandula vera

Lavere: means 'to wash' while Lavandin is also sold as lavender essential oil.

The lavender plant is grown all over Europe, is native of the Mediterranean area and the pure oil mainly comes from France.

There are many great properties for lavender essential oil such as: analgesic, antibiotic, anticonvulsive, anti-depressive, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral, decongestant, fungicide, sedative and stimulates the immune system.

Fabulous uses:

Mental/Emotional: calming, depression and insomnia

Muscular/Joint: cramps, headaches, inflammation of muscles and joints, tension and vein problems.

Respiratory: bronchitis, colds, asthma, whooping cough

Skin: acne, eczema, burns, insect repellant, bites, and wounds.

So what do you do with it? You should mix your essential oil in a carrier oil such as: almond oil, grapeseed, etc. (be sure to check for nut allergies) Well, lavender can be fabulous in its pure state to combat headaches - Just put a few drops in your oil and you have a natural blend.

My Segment WILL Air

Well after two years of anticipation, It is finally going to happen! For those of you that are lost. I was filmed December 2006 for HGTV's hit show "That's Clever", I was given multiple air dates - Those never happened. So I finally gave up!

Now it looks like my series is already scheduled online and is due to air sometime the end of February or early March. Once I have an exact date I will post it online. I am somewhat apprehensive about doing that; Why? Well the producers of the show forced me to do some really out of character things but..... it was a great experience and I am sure will be entertaining for all of you. So.... tune in for updates!

Put A Fork In Me; I Am DONE!!

Well here it is December 18th, and I THINK I am finished with all soapy orders for the year. Of course the minute I publish this something will happen. Sales are finally winding down for the season, which is bittersweet for me. I say that because I am tired! I have worked my butt off this holiday season, and I am ready for a nice break. On the other hand; I am such a busy body that I am not sure I will know what to do with myself.

At any rate; I intend on being MIA from the soap shop and this blog for ATLEAST a week. Thank you to all my fabulous customers and friends during this holiday season. I wish each and everyone of you a safe, yet fun holiday; and incase I decide to take two weeks off - Have a Happy New Year.

Q: What is the name of your company and when did you start it?

My company name is Sudz N Bubbles, Ltd. I started my company 2004

Q: What is your name & how many children do you have?

My name is Cindy Tollen, I have two boys: Austin 17 years and Denton 9 years old

Q: What was the inspiration behind your company?

The inspiration behind my company is my youngest son ‘Denton’. He is the reason I started Sudz N Bubbles. He was diagnosed with moderate eczema; his doctor suggested a glycerine soap. I paid over $8.00 for a slice of soap. After that I decided to learn to make it myself. I began making bars for him, all the while becoming addicted to soapmaking. I began giving my ‘plain bars’20as gifts to friends and family, after awhile they began coming back for more, only this time they wanted to pay me for them. Hence, Sudz N Bubbles was born.

Q: How long did it take you to earn a profit from your business?

It has taken a long time. I believe that I made some really bad decisions along the way. I just began turning a profit last year. So I suppose you could say it took me about three years.

Q: What obst acles (if any) did you face along the way & how did you overcome them?

I faced a few obstacles along the way. I was a real estate appraiser and broker before I broke into the soapmaking business. So my obstacles were people not taking me seriously and thinking it was just a silly craft I did in my kitchen. Having perseverance and some press tends to help a lot.

Q: Did you ever feel like quitting? What kept you going?

Yes; I felt like quitting more than once. When people make snide remarks, and don’t seem to support your ideas it can20be very frustrating. I kept going because I felt like I had a very unique product that makes gift giving fun. I love to see someone smile when they see my products; that in itself was enough to keep me going.

Q: What quality/qualities (i.e., tenacity, discipline, time management) do you think are necessary for a mom entrepreneur?

There are so many qualities but honestly; the two most important qualities are discipline (that means get out of your pajamas, put on work clothes) and time management. I used to waste so much time on the internet. Internet surfing is leisure time!

Q: How do you juggle career and children?

It can be really trying at times. However; my oldest is 17 and very self sufficient which helps. Otherwise; to juggle both we go back to time management and using it wisely. Work while the kids are at school or napping. Sometimes it can be tempting to watch TV, surf the web, etc. especially since I work at home. I have really learned to manage my time.

Q: Do you have employees?

Yes; I have two part time employees

Q: What one thing (book, website, coach, tool, blog, service, etc) was VERY INSTRUMENTAL in your success?

I have a great friend that seems to be educated in EVERYTHING. He was incredibly instrumental in my success. We would talk every morning about goals, ideas, etc. I also completed some online business coaching classes from Jenn Givler. (She is amazing!)

Q: What is your favorite quote?

This quote comes from my mom and it is the truth, especially when dealing with employees “If you accept it, it becomes acceptable.”

Q: What advice would you give to a new mom entrepreneur?

My advice to a new mom entrepreneur would be, if you have a vision, and feel very strongly about it. Don’t give up and don’t l et others bring you down. There is something to be said about positive energy.

Q: Who were others that you looked up to during your successful rise?

There is another soapmaker who had her business and home destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, I spoke with her on the phone not long after that. She was so positive about rebuilding and I thought WOW! If she can recover herself, family, and business after that tragedy – I can do anything!

Little Soap Shop Girl - Missing!

So... I have hesitated in writing this post. I am saddened to say that my little soap shop girl is no longer with me. We really were a great team! Seems that she is overwhelmed with school and lifes issues.

I do have another little soap shop girl that will be starting today. However; I do not think she will be contributing to this blog for awhile. In the meantime please keep checking back for sales, and updates for the year end.

Whew!! The last month has been a total blur to me. I exhibited at two shows, fought off two nasty colds, threw my husband a 40th birthday party, and here I am a month later with Christmas soap designs. Not sure how I did it but I think adrenaline played a big part in it.

Anywho..... Above are two of our newest Holiday soap designs. They are not quite available online so..... if interested. Shoot me an email! The mistle toads retail for $4.50 each and the Tree bars retail for $5.00. They will come packaged in cute bag with ribbon to match.

Holy cow! It has been a crazy past two weeks. I became VERY sick over a week ago. So sick that I could not breathe. I literally thought I was going to die. A couple of breathing treatments later and no cigarettes. I am a new person!

My Little Soap Shop Girl has now contracted my illness. Poor thing. We had some really cute posts ready for everyone. Now we must come up with new ones as they are just simply not fitting anymore to the month.

I think we should be back to 100% by next week.

Rumors Put To Rest

So I heard it through the grape vine that there are those who think I may have a crush on Shepard Smith of Fox News. Well I have one thing to say to that…Yes it’s true. I mean it’s true that we literally fight over the remote each day to see who will get first dibbs on whether we are stuck listening to the likes of Neil Cavuto or music on XM radio. And yes it’s true; The Big Kahuna doesn’t like it when I stink up the shop with my “ethnic” lunches (If you can consider Ramen noodles and the teriyaki bowl from Jack in the Box ethnic). But back to these grave Shepard Smith charges…I just simply think he is hilarious. I find it funny how he can say the silliest things and still maintain his composure. But, anyways, back to the soap of the month, Raspberry De-lite. I think this is such an amazing soap that I feel it needs a post of its own so stay tuned fellow earthlings…

Does The Soap Shop Stink?

Well, there ya go! I knew that my ‘Little Soap Shop Girl’ would come up with something witty. I really don’t think I am THAT anal retentive about cleanliness. I just want everything spotless before we start another project; she thinks we should just trash the place then clean up later.

I thought I was pretty cut and dry in my intro. I did not mention anything about how she smells up the whole shop with her nasty Asian food odors. Or…. How she must listen to Fox news all afternoon. I prefer XM radio, it gets me going. Personally; I think she has a huge crush on Sheppard Smith.

Anywho……………..

How about a fragrance of the month? I am going to choose this one without consulting the ‘The Little Soap Shop Girl’. Why? Well I think we would probably choose the same one. So how about our newest design/fragrance

Raspberry De-Lite

I chose this one because she has been insistent on perfecting the soap swirl with this fragrance. I hate to admit it but…. She has done a pretty darn good job. I have struggled with the swirl for years. I might even be slightly jealous; since she has been at this for a few months and has created, in my opinion an almost perfect swirl. Intro by Little Soap Shop Girl

On one very warm summer night I was in a foolish drunken state of mind and I was simply minding my own business as I watched from afar, and with great dismay, the wannabe professional bowlers on league night. It was on this very night that I was introduced to the ‘Big Kahuna’. And as they say, the rest is history! This has been a wacky, fun, yet creative experience for me. I would never have thought that I would be making soap and enjoying it, since I was a lab rat in my past life.

Any who………..

We are dedicating this blog to our racy, somewhat erratic, and I am sure at times, passive-aggressive rants about the ins and outs of the soap biz. And I am also sure that, in our infinite wisdom, we will include a post or two discussing at lengthy depths the intense and compulsive psychosis “The Big Kahuna” has with cleanliness. We might also include an odd post here and there about my habitual and unrepentant tardiness, as well as, my unfathomable profoundness for the soap sample. (In a perfect world, soap samples would come in all shapes and sizes to be judge not by the color of their dye, but by the content of their glycerin…ah… a simple soap girl can only dream).

Hell…we might even say something intelligent…who knows…you might get lucky.

Big Kahuna Intro

I am Cindy aka "The Big Kahuna". I waited for my "Little Soap Shop Girl" to do her post first. But... it appears that she must still be putting her finishing and polishing touches on it.

This is normal!

Anywhoooo...... I am the Big Kahuna of Sudz N Bubbles, hereafter referred to as the soap shop. Sudz N Bubbles was born as a result of my son requiring special soap, which has slowly evolved into a nice little operation. We handcraft novelty and custom soap for customers all over the world.

Now that my history is out of the way; I am sure that my 'Little Soap Shop Girl' will be chiming in soon with her story and what we plan on doing with this little blog. She might also let you in on our mascot, a few crazy tales and MAYBE even our fragrance of the month.
